Authorities went door to door Wednesday night, searching for 4 year old Bryton Cason.

They found him hours later, dead in the grass of his front yard.

But what they didn't find is who did it.

An autopsy report shows it wasn't a person that took his life.

Steve Turner with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said, “The cause of death is blunt force trauma due to a K9 attack.”

Authorities say they're still looking for the dog and need your help.

Turner said, “If someone knows where the dog is, please contact the authorities. If they have an idea it might be the dog, people need to stay away from the dog. We don't know the circumstances or what exactly what went down, because we don't have a witness.”

Or any idea what kind of dog they’re looking for.

Turner said, “We have no idea what kind of dog it is.”

Turner says what they do know is Cason got out of the house.

Turner said, “We know the boy got out the front door whether he was playing with the dog or the dog just came up we have no idea about that.”

Still searching for answers and the dog who took a little boys life.
