MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities have identified a man who
drowned in a central Georgia river as 30-year-old Saul Cardenas-Leon of Eatonton.
Milledgeville police said he drowned in a river near Lake Sinclair.
The Telegraph of Macon reports that Saul Cardenas-Leon was fishing with his cousin at the Sinclair Dam boat ramp area when he slipped off the bank and fell into the water.
The cousin told officials that he tried to grab Cardenas-Leon but was unable to hold on, and lost sight of him when he went under water.
Authorities said the Saturday afternoon drowning is being treated as an accident.
