Alzheimer’s affects over 84,000 people in the state of Alabama

In Alabama alone, Alzheimer’s affects 84,000 people and 10,000 diagnosed, live in our area.
That’s why a local group is working to create awareness.

The Alzheimer’s resource center hosted a luncheon this afternoon at St. Andrews market.
They offered education about the disease.
Organizers say it's important to be prepared because the disease can lead to dangerous situations.

“Every story is special. I mean I’ve heard stories all this morning where fathers get the keys to the car and wander off,and drive away and you have to put out an amber alert, said Mary Alice Veale"
