ATLANTA (AP) -- Gov. Nathan Deal has announced Georgia collected $1.41 billion in net tax revenue last month. The figure represents a 6.7 percent increase compared with July 2012.

In a statement, Deal said Monday that the percentage increase translates to about $88.5 million in additional tax revenue compared with July 2012.

Officials say the growth is linked to a $60.25 million increase in individual income tax revenue compared with July 2012. More than $758 million in individual income taxes were collected last month.

Officials say gross sales tax collections dropped by about 5 percent to $43.25 million. Corporate income taxes decreased by nearly 22 percent to $14 million.

Officials say motor vehicle, tag and title fees totaled $83.5 million -- which was an increase of more than $62 million since July 2012.
