ATLANTA (AP) -- Issues including guns, illegal immigration and
drug testing for unemployed Georgians seeking benefits are still on
the table, but must be considered by at least one chamber of the
Legislature by Wednesday to remain on the agenda this year.
The 30th day of the session, known as Crossover Day, is the
deadline for bills to pass at least one chamber of the Legislature
to remain alive, and is scheduled for March 7. This year's session
could wrap up later this month -- earlier than in recent years, as
lawmakers up for re-election are eager to return to their districts
to raise money and campaign.
The session's final 10 days promise to be a flurry of activity.
