ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal will address members of the state's largest farm lobbying group during their annual visit to the Statehouse.

Deal plans to speak to members of the Georgia Farm Bureau early Tuesday afternoon after they get a briefing on agriculture issues and meet with state lawmakers. Agriculture is Georgia's single-largest economic sector.

The Republican governor made his first major speech after winning office at the state Farm Bureau's annual convention in December.

Farmers have already achieved one of their big lobbying goals for the year. A commission set up to overhaul Georgia's tax code has recommended keeping existing tax exemptions on materials such as livestock feed, seed, fertilizer, chemicals and farm equipment.
