NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities in Coweta County say animal control officers had to wear hazmat suits with oxygen tanks as they removed 80 cats from smelly conditions in a home.
CBS Atlanta reports (http://bit.ly/n8kbKL) that the cats were removed after a complaint was made to the sheriff's office this week. Coweta County spokeswoman Patricia Palmer says now the problem is where to put all the cats. She said the county shelter is already jam-packed.
Officials are investigating what led to so many cats in the home, and trying to figure out where to house the animals now.
