Georgia News Dec 2: Senator Says Change Tax Code to Reduce US Debt

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) -- Georgia Sen. Saxby Chambliss says the country should raise more money through changes in the tax code and use it to gradually pay off the national debt. The Republican lawmaker has been criticized by some Republicans for saying he might break a public pledge not to raise taxes he signed years ago.

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) -- About 50 Air National Guard members are coming home to Georgia for the holidays. The 116th and 461st Air Control Wings were on a three-month deployment to the Middle East supporting International Security Assistance Force operations in Afghanistan.

ATLANTA (AP) -- Authorities are investigating the theft of over 20,000 pounds of dog food from a pet shop in southeast Atlanta. Intown Healthy Hound was burglarized after closing Wednesday, and the store's owner returned to find thieves had stolen 800 bags of dog food from the shop.
