Georgia Couple Accused of Starving Son May Have Been Investiagted Before

CANTON, Ga. (AP) -- A Georgia couple who authorities say locked their teenage son in a bedroom for years before putting him on a bus to Los Angeles had previously been investigated for abuse.
A Cherokee County Sheriff's Office report says child welfare officials alerted them to a report about Paul and Sheila Comer in February 2009. The sheriff's office closed the case, considering the report unfounded.
The incident report says the couple's son claimed his parents made him get on his knees and rest his head against a wall with his hands behind him for hours at a time. The son's name was redacted from the report.
The Comers were arrested last week and accused of abusing their 18-year-old son, who weighed 87 pounds when he was found in Los Angeles.
