GA Adult Education Centers Offer Free GED practice

Adult education centers around Georgia are giving adults the opportunity to take a GED practice test free of charge.

The Technical College System of Georgia says passing the high school graduation equivalency test can help people get a better-paying job and discover a new career.

From Sept. 10-14, those thinking of taking the test can go to adult education centers throughout the state to take a practice test. The initiative coincides with Gov. Nathan Deal's proclamation that next week is Literacy Week.

Staff at the centers will be available to explain what's needed to sign up for the GED preparation classes, which are always free to every Georgian. They'll also be able to talk about grants and financial assistance open to those who want to take the test.
