ATLANTA (AP) -- Authorities say two men who worked for a machine products vendor in Albany have pleaded guilty to bribing a public official at a military base.
U.S. District Attorney's officials say 43-year-old Thomas Cole and 55-year-old Frederick Simon pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court Middle District of Georgia.
The men were both charged with one count of bribery of a public official after they secured more than 1,000 machine purchase orders by paying an official at the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany at least $75 to secure each purchase order.
Authorities say the worker would evaluate bids for purchase orders and let the men know exactly how much their company needed to bid to secure an order.
Authorities say the men could face up to 15 years in prison.
