Reduced furlough days means kids at Department of Defense schools will not miss any days this school year.
Earlier this week, the Pentagon announced it was lowering the number of furlough days for civilian employees from 11 to 6. The change eliminated furloughs for education employees, like teachers and aids, who work at 10-month schedule and were set to take five days of leave.
Employees who work 11 and 12 month schedules will still face furloughs, but see the number dropped to 6.
Furloughs began on July 8.
