A new competition at Fort Benning will determine which soldiers make up the Army's best tank crew.
Four-man crews from Army posts across the U.S. and abroad will test their skills at tank driving, gunnery and maintenance during the first Sullivan Cup competition next month.
Georgia will be sending tank crews from Fort Benning and Fort Stewart to compete. Other troops will travel from Fort Irwin, Calif.; Fort Carson, Colo.; Fort Bliss and Fort Hood in Texas; and the Washington National Guard. Also expected are soldiers from the Army's 2nd Infantry Division based in South Korea.
The contest will take place from May 6 through 10. Some of the events will be open to the public.
