MACON, Ga. (AP) --The U.S. attorney's office in Macon says the Sherry Darlene McDaniel has been sentenced to 41 months in federal prison, and her husband Lance McDaniel has been sentenced to 33 months.
The Telegraph newspaper in Macon reports (http://bit.ly/xOAtSW)
that the two were sentenced during a hearing Tuesday.
Darlene McDaniel was accused of honoring contracts, while
serving as executive director, with a painting company that
employed her husband. Prosecutors say the housing authority's board
of directors never reviewed or authorized the contracts.
