Next week Donalsonville residents can look through a window into the town's past.

Next Thursday is the grand opening of the Donalsonville News Museum.

The museum is part of the Downtown Development Authority's Betterway Initiative Project.

The goal is to take empty store fronts and give the illusion of activity to get more traffic downtown.

They have all of the newspaper's old printing equipment from Linotypes to lead type accessories.

"History to us and to this community, history for Seminole County, that's our heritage. We want to promote it, we feel like we can build a better future by preserving everything from our past," Managing Editor David Maxwell said.

The museum is in the Donalsonville News' office, it will open at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
