ROSSVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A Tennessee doctor was arrested in northwest Georgia for allegedly attempting to have sex with a minor.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that 35-year-old Vikul Patel was arrested Sunday in Rossville, Ga., by agents from the FBI-led Safe Child Task Force.
Patel was charged with attempted child molestation and violation of the Computer Pornography Act. Patel is being held at the Walker County Detention Center.
FBI spokesman Stephen Emmett said in a statement that Patel, a doctor of internal medicine, began a series of chats with undercover agents "regarding his desires to have sex with a minor child."
