DECATUR, Ga. (AP) - DeKalb County police are investigating why
an officer released a prosecutor after arresting him on DUI charges.
Master Patrol Officer C.J. Lee charged DeKalb Assistant Solicitor Wystan Getz with DUI, fleeing and eluding, reckless driving and operating an unsafe vehicle on Saturday.
A police report says the officer never booked Getz into jail and allowed him to leave the hospital after taking a blood test.
Police spokesman Officer Jason Gagnon says DUI suspects typically are booked.
Gagnon says Lee remains on duty. Getz is on unpaid administrative leave from the solicitor-general's office during an internal investigation.
A phone listing for Getz could not be located.
