GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A body found on the shore of Lake Lanier has been identified as a missing 16-year-old girl.
Investigators said Saturday that they suspect foul play in the death of Hannah Truelove. She was last seen Thursday morning.
Gainesville police said they were summoned to the Lake Lanier Club apartments on Friday evening when a man walking a trail near the lake found the body in a wooded area. The victim was found a short distance from where she lived with her family. Police would not comment on the cause of death.
Besides speaking with acquaintances, police are investigating whether Truelove had a stalker based on a comment posted on a Twitter page that appeared to be used by Truelove.
