Autopsy Reveals Cause of GA Police Officer's Death

MACON, Ga. (AP) -- An autopsy has revealed a 49-year-old Macon police lieutenant who was found dead at a training facility died of problems associated with an enlarged heart.

Lt. Mark Cotton was found dead Sunday at the Chief Ben T. Watkins Training Academy. Cotton served as director of the training center and has spent over 27 years with the department.

Police Tuesday said Cotton was in peak physical condition and was an avid runner, swimmer and golfer.

Authorities say Cotton's family is arranging a small, private funeral.
