April 27th marks the three-year anniversary of one of Alabama's most deadly natural disasters in history.

Forecasters had been warning of a potentially dangerous outbreak for days and their prediction indeed came true.

Sixty-two tornadoes tore through the state on April 27th, 2011.

There were two waves of storms, one early in the morning, and a second wave of strong tornadoes that struck that afternoon and evening.

252 people were killed and nearly 2000 were injured.
