In Georgia, the unemployment rate has dropped to 8.4 percent, and one southwest Georgia police department hopes to put people to work.
Officers from Albany were in Dothan Friday on a recruiting trip.
They say the department has a lot to offer, but mainly they wanted to spread the message that they are looking for people who want a career in law enforcement.
Albany Police Officer Timothy Hogg said, “It takes the right kind of person to do this job. This job isn't for everybody. So we're looking for people who really want to make this a career not just a job.”
“We want them to know there is an employer looking to hire good men and women, qualified men and women, during these tough economic times,” said Albany Police Officer Lakesha Bryant.
