ALBANY, Ga. (AP) -- Federal prosecutors say an attempted bank robber who shot at police has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison.
Investigators say 38-year-old Eric Colbert of Albany pleaded guilty to robbing First State Bank in Albany at gunpoint in November 2011. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court.
Officials say Colbert fired a shot into the ceiling and at a city police officer. No one was injured and no money was stolen from the bank.
Authorities say Colbert fired several shots behind him as he ran from the bank but was arrested shortly afterward.
