MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) -- The state of Alabama and a Roman Catholic broadcasting network based near Birmingham are again suing over the nation's new health care law.

Attorney General Luther Strange and Eternal Word Television Network filed suit Monday in federal court.

Strange and the network say they are challenging a requirement in the law that makes employers provide contraception and abortion drugs in health care plans for workers.

The suit contends the mandate in unconstitutional on religious grounds since Catholic teaching opposes contraception and abortion.

A federal judge in Birmingham previously dismissed a similar suit as being premature, but Eternal Word says it now faces a July 1 deadline for complying with the law.

The network is being represented by a Virginia-based group that advocates religious liberty.
