COLUMBUS, Ga. (AP) - A former Army and Air Force Exchange
Service official has admitted taking part in a bribery plot involving a $206 million contract for telecommunications service to
U.S. military installations in South Korea.
Officials say 42-year-old Henry Lee Holloway of Hamilton, Ga., a
manager at the Central Exchange in Korea from 2003-2007, pleaded
guilty Tuesday to conspiracy and filing a false tax return.
The Justice Department says Holloway took at least $70,000 in
stock offerings, entertainment, travel, cash and other benefits
from Gi-Hwan Jeong, chief executive of Samsung Rental Co., to help
maintain the company's contract.
Holloway faces up to eight years in prison and fines totalling
$350,000. Jeong's trial starts June 1 in Texas.
