Marietta apartment fire leaves 27 homeless

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - An apartment fire in Marietta has left 27
people temporarily homeless.

Cobb County Fire Lt. Dan Dupree says the Sunday night blaze
engulfed the length of a building about 7:45 p.m. at the River
Heights Apartment Homes near Johnsons Ferry Road.

Dupree says the blaze stretched across the nearly 150-foot long
building in the attic above the sprinkler system.

Firefighters put out the flames within two hours.

Cause of the fire was not immediately known. No injuries were
reported.
