LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A 35-year-old Gwinnett County woman
has been accused of killing an infant she was babysitting less than
a month after she reportedly beat up her teenage daughter.
Gwinnett County Police say 35-year-old Latasha Dione Malone was
arrested Wednesday for reportedly shaking and striking 2-month-old
Jayden Jamison on Feb. 7 while she was watching him at her
Malone told police she fell asleep with the child, a relative,
in the same bed with 4-year-old son, and when she awoke her son was cradling Jayden.
At the time, Malone was out on bond on battery and obstruction
charges related to a scuffle with her 15-year-old daughter. Court
documents say Malone allegedly choked, punched and scratched her
daughter at their apartment on Jan. 17.
