Man Seeks Clemency from Death Penalty

ATLANTA (AP) - Georgia's Board of Pardons and Paroles will
consider granting clemency on Monday to a man scheduled to be
executed on Tuesday for the fatal stabbing of a female neighbor who
had spurned his advances.

Robert Newland was convicted in 1987 and
sentenced to die for the killing of 27-year-old Carol Sanders
