WOODSTOCK, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say two Woodstock High School students are in custody after a gun was found at the school.
Cherokee County Sheriff's Sgt. Jay Baker says police locked down the 2,300-student school Thursday morning after receiving a tip that a student had run away from home the night before and planned to take three guns to school.
Baker says the student and his friend were taken into custody not long after the lockdown began. He says one gun was found in a school bathroom. Police are keeping the school on lockdown while they look for other weapons.
No injuries have been reported.
Nearby Woodstock Middle School also was placed on lockdown, but that has been lifted.
Baker did not know the names and ages of the students.
