Ga. DOT monitoring, treating icy roads

ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) - The Georgia Department of Transportation say personnel and equipment are monitoring and treating icy bridge and road conditions.

David Spear, a DOT spokesman, said in a statement Monday the specific trouble spots are: Interstate 20 in Rockdale, Newton and Morgan counties; Interstate 85 in Jackson County: U.S. 78 from I-285 through Stone Mountain to Athens; State Road 3 in Clayton County; U.S. 29 in DeKalb County; and I-20 in Fulton County.

Spears said motorists should allow extra travel time, allow extra distance between other vehicles, and slow down near bridges and overpasses where icy conditions may develop.
