ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) - Authorities say a massive storm system that raced across south Georgia overnight spawned at least three tornadoes and left scattered property damage.
According to preliminary storm reports from the National Weather Service office in Tallahassee, Fla., twisters were confirmed in Lowndes, Grady and Thomas counties.
The violent weather downed dozens of trees and power lines, but there were no immediate reports of injuries.
Damage assessment teams are expected to survey the storm damaged areas at daybreak.
Calmer weather conditions and cooler temperatures are in today's forecast.
