ATLANTA (AP) - Sen. Johnny Isakson begins his bid this week for a second six-year term in the U.S. Senate.
The 64-year-old Isakson, who has served in the U.S. House as well as the Georgia Legislature, plans a formal announcement today at Georgia's Capitol.
He will be joined by other Republican leaders, including Gov. Sonny Perdue and Sen. Saxby Chambliss.
Isakson plans to tour the state beginning on Wednesday with stops in Augusta, Albany and Columbus and on Thursday in Macon and Savannah.
