ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - An Atlanta man is being held in a south
Georgia jail after he was arrested in a weekend sex-sting
operation.

Albany police and the Dougherty County sheriff's office said
31-year-old Sivakumar Jeraraman was taken into custody at a local
motel on Saturday.

Authorities allege that Jeraraman drove from Atlanta to an
Albany motel with the intentions of having sex with someone he
believed to be a 14-year-old girl.

Albany Police Capt. Craig Dodd said the girl turned out to be an
undercover police officer.

Investigator said Jeraraman is an Indian national in the United
States on a work visa.

He remains in the Dougherty County Jail under $5,000 bond.
