Now-grown children found, grandfather charged

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - Authorities in California have arrested a man on a fugitive warrant in the disappearance of two of his grandchildren from Middle Tennessee 20 years ago.

The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro reported Bobby and Christie Baskin - now in their 20s - were found and 72-year-old Marvin Maple was arrested in San Jose.

The newspaper reported the victims - who disappeared when they were 8 and 7 years old - were raised under the names Jonathan and Jennifer Bunting by their maternal grandparents who had assumed the names John and Frances Bunting.

The newspaper reported the grandmother died several years ago.

The children were those of Mark and Debbie Baskin, who formerly lived in Rutherford County and now live in Vidalia, Ga.

Rutherford County Sheriff's detectives are in San Jose and have begun extradition efforts.
