MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A Powder Springs woman has been arrested
and charged for serving alcohol to a teenager who died in a car
Cobb County police alleged that 43-year-old Kecia Whitfield
supplied alcoholic beverages to 16-year-old Garrett Reed at a Jan.
25 party at her home.
Police said Reed, a junior at Harrison High School, was killed
in a single-vehicle accident in Cobb County. Authorities said the
wreck occurred shortly after Reed left the party.
Whitfield was being held on $10,000 bond. Its unclear if she has
retained an attorney.
