Raybon Anderson of Statesboro, who represents the 12th Congressional District on Georgia's Board of Transportation, says he's resigning effective Feb. 17.
Anderson, whose district includes Savannah, says the job was too time-consuming. His term was to expire in 2013.
Anderson, who runs a fertilizer company, was named to the board in 2005.
He was part of a one-vote majority that chose Gena Evans as DOT commissioner. Evans was Gov. Sonny Perdue's choice for the job.
