Hartsfield-Jackson named nation's busiest airport

ATLANTA (AP) - Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport
has been ranked the nation's busiest airport for the fourth year in
a row.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the airport led the
country in 2008 in the number of takeoffs and landings.

An FAA report shows Hartsfield-Jackson had about 978,000
operations last year, a slight drop of about 1 percent from 2007.
Th city-run airport outranked Chicago O'Hare International Airport,
which had some 881,000 flight operations.

Airport officials are hoping to hold on to the title of world's
busiest airport. Preliminary data from the Airports Council
International shows Hartsfield-Jackson likely was the world's
busiest in terms of flight operations and the number of passengers
flown in 2008.
