Pit Bull Ban

Thomas County Sheriff Carlton Powell considers the breed to be a
danger to the public.

He made the comments at Tuesday's meeting of the Thomas County Commission.

Powell's proposal comes after last week's death of a 5-year-old
Thomasville girl.

The youngster was mauled to death in her yard by her family's pit bulls.

Powell believes the dogs are too aggressive.

But at least one citizen said its unfair to pass a law that
picks on one breed.

Thomasville is located near the Florida line.
