Cobb Co. teacher resigns following arrest

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) - A former high school teacher in Cobb County faces sex related offenses following his arrest for allegedly sending sexually charged text messages to a 15-year-old girl.

Cobb County Police said 36-year-old Christopher Michael Nicklis of Kennesaw was arrested Wednesday. Police said Nicklis, who taught at Harrison High School, was accused of soliciting sex and sending inappropriate pictures of himself to the student.

Police said the teen's mother found the text messages and informed school officials. Nicklis was released from jail Thursday on $15,000 bond.
