Teachers Asked to Donate Raises

If every teacher returns the 2.5 percent raise, it would
generate $4 million.

The district's school board agreed Monday night to write a letter to the system's 1,800 teachers asking them to "make a donation" to the 24,000-student system.

The infusion of cash could help keep Fayette County's school
district afloat.

Like many school districts, Fayette County schools are struggling in the face of state budget cuts and falling property tax values.
