Columbus police are investigating the alleged rape of a 23-year-old woman who says she was assaulted by three men.

The Columbus woman told police she was walking to catch a bus to work around 5 a.m. Saturday when a car with three men drove up beside her.

Columbus Police Lt. Lynn Joiner said the men began talking to her then drove away.

The victim told police she spotted the men again at another intersection and the suspects stole her purse and threatened to shoot her before pulling her into a ditch and raping her.

Police took the woman to The Medical Center for treatment.

Joiner said police have made no arrests and are still investigating.
