Mexican Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking

ATLANTA (AP) - One of five men charged last summer with sex
trafficking of young Mexican women coerced into prostitution in
metro Atlanta has admitted his role.

Federal prosecutors say 25-year-old Francisco Cortes-Meza
pleaded guilty Thursday to sex trafficking by force and coercion,
which carries a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. A
sentencing date has not been set.

According to information presented in court, Cortes-Meza began a
relationship with a 22-year-old in Mexico during the winter of 2007
and persuaded her to come with him to the United States under the
pretense that she could work in a restaurant.

Among four others indicted in July was his brother, 21-year-old
Raul Cortes-Meza. No trial date has been set for him.
