Henry County police shoot, kill suspect

STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) - Henry County police say a carjacking suspect has been shot and killed after officers pursued him about
an hour.

Henry County police Capt. Jason Bolton says the call came in about 11 p.m. Wednesday. He says the suspect stole a motorcycle at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart store on Ga. 138 and fled.

He says the suspect later crashed the motorcycle and ran into nearby woods. Bolton says several officers pursued the suspect, who fired multiple shots at the officers. The officers fired back, striking and killing him.

Authorities have not released the suspect's name. Police spokeswoman Sgt. Rene Swanson says three officers were put on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
