ATLANTA (AP) - The FBI is asking for the public's help in identifying a violent trio who robbed two metro Atlanta banks this week.
Gregory Jones, head of the FBI in Atlanta, says the three men held up a Wachovia Bank branch in Lithonia at gunpoint on Monday and a Decatur branch on Wednesday. In each case, two controlled customers in the lobby while a third jumped the teller counter and
took undisclosed amounts of cash.
While leaving the Decatur bank, one robber fired a single shot, but it did not strike anyone. The FBI considers the robbers armed and dangerous, and cautions the public not to take any action other than to notify the FBI's bank robbery squad at (404) 679-9000.
