ATLANTA (AP) - The National Weather Service has issued a tornado
watch for north Georgia, including metro Atlanta.
The watch will last until 3 p.m. Wednesday.
The Weather Service issued the watch as a line of severe thunderstorms moved across the Atlanta area.
The forecast calls for more rain, with the possibility of brief and severe thunderstorms.
A front moving across the Southeast will push winds across the
region that could reach 15 to 25 mph, with gusts of between 30 and
40 mph in the north Georgia mountains.
The Weather Service says showers will develop in west Georgia
and spread across north Georgia as the day continues.
Heavy rain is expected to continue into the day on Thursday, before tapering off by late Thursday night.
