Text message murder confession

ATLANTA (AP) - Police discovered a Riverdale woman dead after her husband text-messaged his sister that he may have killed his wife.

Montay Lee Merritt is being held without bond on charges of murder in the death of 38-year-old Alesha Merritt.

Clayton County police found the body Saturday after Monica Edwards told them she'd received a text message.

Police say the message read: "Monica, plz call me! I thk I killed Lisa."

Police say Merritt went on to say he choked the woman and left her on the floor.

Officer Sonja Sanchez says the couple argued after a night of drinking Friday because Merritt had gotten another woman pregnant.
