A Georgia man accused of killing an Alabama convenience store clerk during a robbery has been arrested at a central Iowa motel.

Law enforcement officials said a citizen's tip led them to 22-year-old Jesse Scheuing of Waycross, who was arrested Thursday night at the Red Carpet Motel in Knoxville. He was taken into custody without incident.

The arrest came hours after an Iowa State Patrol officer discovered an abandoned sport utility vehicle along Interstate 80
east of Newton.

The GMC Yukon was reported stolen after Scheuing allegedly robbed the Pak-A-Sak store in Oxford, Ala. on Nov. 28 and fatally shot 27-year-old Sean Cook.

Oxford police Sgt. L.G. Owens said the two men apparently knew
each other and talked casually for about four minutes before
Scheuing pulled out the gun and shot Cook.

He said another man, 21-year-old James Potts of Weaver, Ala.,
was arrested and charged with capital murder shortly after the
shooting.
