Police Arrest Teen in Connection With Bomb Threats

SPRINGFIELD, Ga. (AP) - South Georgia authorities have accused a
15-year-old of participating in a rash of bomb threat hoaxes at his
high school.

Effingham County sheriff's Det. David Ehsanipoor said the teenager was charged Wednesday with making terroristic threats and disrupting a public school. Police declined to release teen's name because he is a juvenile.

Ehsanipoor said all the threats were hoaxes, and police believe the teen is responsible for just one of the threats. Authorities responded Wednesday to another threat at Effingham High School after the teen was in custody.

Ehsanipoor said there have been about five such calls since Oct. 14. Each time, the school was evacuated and searched by police.
