Republican Saxby Chamblis called on Democrat Jim Martin to ask the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to take down an ad attacking his support for the "fair tax."
Chambliss called the spot misleading.
Martin countered by saying Chambliss should toss out his
campaign's ad suggesting Martin was responsible for the deaths of
children in state care when he was commissioner of the state
Department of Human Resources.
Martin called the TV ad "a personal attack" much like the one Chambliss launched against Democratic Sen. Max Cleland six years ago.
Libertarian candidate Allen Buckley called the bickering "sad" and said he wanted to stick to the issues.
