ATLANTA (AP) - Organizers say the Georgia Aquarium's annual gala fundraiser will probably only make about half the amount that was originally expected.
Organizers for Thursday's "Aqua Vino" gala expect to raise $50,000.
Attendance at the event, which costs between $150 and $200 per person.
Money raised by the gala goes toward the aquarium's veterinarian fees.
Aquarium spokesman Dave Santucci said the gala, which was planned before the economy took a nosedive, was originally expected to draw more people than last year.
