ATLANTA (AP) - Supporters and a Not-for-profit housing developer are
gathering in Atlanta Tuesday to discuss ways to maintain affordable
housing options in a tough economy.
The Georgia State Trade Association of Nonprofit Developers and
the Georgia Affordable Housing Corporation are hosting the 7th
annual Fall Affordable Housing Conference.
The conference includes panels on topics like foreclosure
prevention counseling; strategies for acquiring and redeveloping
foreclosed properties in distressed neighborhoods; and navigating
challenges facing nonprofit housing organizations in a down market.
Conference topics also will include the effects of the Housing
and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, designed to help prevent
thousands of borrowers from losing their homes.
